I learned my lesson a long time ago when were on the march in the middle of National Emblem when the clarinet player in front of me dropped their music and suddenly bent over to pick it up. Even though I saw her as I was playing from memory, I had to quickly side step her - sending my mouthpiece flying. I now use a plastic Kellyberg for marching and highly recommend them for that. Light, cheap and takes a beating!

Unless you are Benny Goodman,
clarinet players are basically worthless.
