I have my decades old leather then-RB-now-Chronkhite leather horn gig bag that is my go-to for everything except plane travel. I'm glad he is still apparently making those, although I doubt I'll ever need another one. Tuba...eh, I think perhaps leather is a bit of overkill or if your wallet is too fat for your back pocket, for most. Maybe for others it is very helpful. I don't look forward to when he retires, because the gap is going to be hard to fill. Real craftsmen, especially in the US, are getting to be in the same category as hens' teeth. My cordura bag for my MPh184 was fully adequate and not floppy like the Dolly bag for the MW182 bag.

The purpose of a case is to protect an expensive cortex.
That's a reason to not fret when it gets beat up. It's not a reason to avoid purchasing a quality tool for the job.
