I'm not with that group but DO play with the Hadi Shrine band in Evansville, Indiana. We are also well over 100 years old and remain stuck in the tradition of not allowing non-Shriners in the band.... which also makes the Hadi Band 'no girls allowed'. As president of the group for several years I championed for miving rehearsals to a public area of the temple and make it a community band. That didn't fly and we still plod along with less than 20 members.
