How about lime scale?

Does anyone have any experience with this valve cleaner?

I ordered a bottle and used it to clean the valves on an old helicon. A lot of stuff came off the valves (it changed the liquid from clear to dark grey). The valves seem to be smoother and faster operating. I'm going to try it on my other horns. It does require a brushing step during the cleaning process. I would suggest an old tooth brush. If you are bold and daring, the white scotch bright (finest grade) and light action might help remove stubborn crud on the valves. Also mark the valves so they go back in the horn in the right place.

I bought some of this and finally got around to using it. All I can say it lives up to it's claims. It has restored the valves on my 1980-ish Boosey & Hawkes Imperial back to near new.
You can buy it in a premixed spray bottle or in a concentrated form you mix yourself. I bought the spray bottle and an 8 oz bottle of concentrate. I found that one 10oz solution (mixed 10:1) was plenty to clean my entire horn .I cleaned my horn in a shallow plastic tub so I could collect all of the spillage and reuse it . The manufacturer says it can reuse several times before it losses its potency.
I'll be cleaning my 1930-ish B&H baritone next . This one shold be interesting to see what comes out.
I had the opportunity to talk to owner of this company, Jerry Pollard . He seems like a up right guy and stands behind his products. I called him because my ordered was weeks late being delivered. He apologized profusely and added a bonus smaller bottle to my order for my troubles.
