Has anyone tried any of these?

Never heard of them. They sure don't go above and beyond as far as options go: Only one rim shape, only one cup depth, and the size options are pretty far apart (I for one would like to see a 33mm offered in between the 33.5 and 32.5).

Yeah... it seems like they mostly make trombone/euph mouthpieces (and have a ton of options) and are just starting to make tuba stuff. I thought it was pretty neat that they are from Malta!

If it matters, don't assume the mouthpieces are actually made on Malta. I don't know that they aren't, just some have seen some muttering that may have meant something or nothing.

Good point... I'll ask them where they are made. They should know.

B&H/Besson used to have a factory on Malta, which made their 600-series student instruments.

G is a design engineer. If they have the right equipment and know how to use it, location doesn’t mean too much.

I already heard back from them... the "K" in "K&G" wrote back to say that all of their mouthpieces ARE made in Malta.

I tried one of their trombone mouthpieces. They seem to run much smaller than their descriptions and measurements on their web site would lead you to believe. It was beautifully made. Unfortunately, they weren't particularly friendly about returns; and shipping mouthpieces back and forth to Malta was also prohibitive, so I never did get a size that was right for me and gave up on them.

I got a T5C which turned out to be smaller in both diameter and depth than a bach 6.5AL.

Whoops, I missed the part where you said it was a trombone mouthpiece. Thanks still, helpful information to know.

Might be worth a try, I like to have wierdo uncommon stuff that nobody else has.

I ordered the goldplated tuba 3F after your post. It shipped from Malta - not packaged very well, which I passed on to them. The build is very solid and the plating is impressive. It is billed as 32.5 mm diameter which it seems to be. The poor shipping resulted in a slight ding at the end of the shank, which my repair man easily fixed (K&G offered to send a replacement, but it was no big deal). The repair man commented on how solid the metal was in the mouthpiece - positive comment.

I like the mouthpiece. I'm never sure if my tubas are mouthpiece sensitive or I am, but it works amazingly well
on the Besson 982 and Wessex Bombino - both Eb tubas. It has a very comfortable feel and performs well. Been using it about 3 weeks.

How would you describe the rim?

I can't decide between the 1F and 3F, because 33.5 mm sounds too large, and 32.5 mm sounds too small. Given the choice, I would probably go with the 32.5 though.

First, I'll tell you that I have determined 32.5 mm diameter is "my size", which is why I selected the 3F. I also like the rim to be more flat than curved.

This K&G is flat enough, but not like the Helleberg and it has a different sort of curvature into the cup and somewhat softer bite, which I think is why it is so comfortable. I liken it to a Perantucci rim, but more comfortable.

I did hit a few notes with the K&G on a friend's new Schiller huge BBb and the sound was impressive.

Maybe a bad choice of words on my part - his comment referred to how strong the metal was as he was fixing a ding at the end of the shank.

Still a little intriguing. Brass alloys are different - more or less malleable etc. - but shanks also differ in how much metal there is at the end. (Or maybe it was just an oblique comment on how vicious the package handling must have been.)

Yeah, Zombie thread. But since the last post, and Bort commenting on wanting a 33mm cup, K&G now have filled out their "full line" of tuba mouthpieces.
