The WOT sound on golden era Besson BBb is superlatively good...and it doesn't make "you-suck" sounds the instant you overshoot a bit. I can see it being particularly inoffensive in recording bell format.
They sure are air guzzlers to sustain ff for more than a couple connected notes though! Takes a lot to get them "on the boil"
Does the recording bell give it a good false tone Eb? That would be quite the feature for the 3 valve compensators.

Cut 6" off of both legs of that top bow - you'd have a horn in CC, and it would look a lot purtier......
