BBC Tuba Question?

So I am REALLY eyeballing that Holton/HB Rusk Cut CC BAT that BBC has had for over a year now and I am well over a days drive from them. I'm wanting some information on the horn. I'm looking to upgrade tubas since I recently had a lesson and the pro I had a lesson with said I need a bigger horn. I love the sound of the Holton, so I'm not too about the sound concept, but I'm curious about intonation, how easy the high and low register is, and literally anything else you can tell me about it. Holtons are one of my favorite sounding horn that I've ever played so I am very interested. It has also been there for quite a while which worries me a little. Again, just tell me anything you can about the tuba. Feel free to either comment or PM me and we can create a dialogue.
All the best,
Zac

Others can chime in, but I'd suggest calling and speaking with the big man (David Fedderly) himself. He will give you an honest answer about the goood AND bad things.

I 2nd what Bort says but I also would like to add that if you end up going down to also try and get a lesson with Fedderly. He is a very straight forward teacher which can be very helpful. I remember when I bought my first CC tuba from BBC in 2004?. I was dead set on getting a 56J they had for sale. When I got there he told me I did not sound good at all on the 56J and had me try a Meinlweston 37. I used the 37 through high school and the first year of college at CIM. I sold it and bought a Miraphone1292 which I still use today. Needless to say he saw what my weakness were as a tuba player and helped me pick a tuba that better complimented my strengths.
Good luck!
