Nice find!

I have to say, wanting one for 15 years and considering parting it out are two pretty far extremes from each other. My vote -- fix it and play it.

I've always wanted to pull the trigger and get one of those, too - I'm glad you decided to do it!

I would say it's a good buy. I'm.... jealous.

Bloke,

I've used this service to transfer money to our credit-card eschewing friends across the pond:

https://transferwise.com/us" target="_blank

(P.S. - even the credit card companies can sometimes bang you up somewhat with conversion fees....)

They are by far the cheapest method I've found.

Mark,

I've always had the itch to put a piston valve set on one of those Kaiser baritones; I wonder how that would go down.......

As for the Meinl Weston/Buffet comment, I was in the mood for a good joke about now.....

Works very well, even for tuba-sized sums.

My daughter's British fiance has been using it recently to get most of his money over here in advance of immigrating, because of the decline of the pound.
