Switching hard case to gigbag

A few months ago my tuba came with a hard case and gigbag. I've never had it out of the hard case. I'm thinking of trying the gigbag any thoughts? I don't travel except for lessons and the hard case is quite the bohemuth. But I'd rather keep the horn safe.

I've never owned a hard case, and if I did, I'd probably use it more at *home* to prevent damage than traveling with it. Especially when my son gets a little older!

If anyone else is going to handle your tuba (as, for example on a bus trip) use the hard case. If you are handling it yourself and you have a good place for it in your car then use the soft case. Check the condition of the straps frequently, and don't get drunk or high.

I use my soft cases much more then I do the hard cases, when traveling to a conference or such, I'll use the hard cases.
