What would be the effect(s) of painting a removable tuba bell?
Did anyone here every try it?

So what are you going to do, anyway?
My question is theoretical.
But from a practical standpoint, if you wanted a quick and fairly easy way to touch up a bell, I guess you could paint it. Maybe if would sound as good or better than a plastic, fiberglass or carbon fiber bell.

Carbon fiber is a different animal from fiberglass. It does ring like brass, well sort of. Carbon fiber has successfully replaced spruce on violins, cellos, guitars and other string instruments. It isn't brass but it does have a more alive feel than fiberglass.

Play the tuba for a while. Then play it again while reaching up with your left hand and holding onto the rim of the bell. That will damp out the bell vibration. You may find (as I do) that you prefer it without the bell vibrations. If so, then paint it as much as you like.
Some bells vibrate to an annoying extent; others do not.
