Mouthpiece for Meinl Weston Thor

Hi all. I currently use a Shilke 67 for my Thor and am happy down to the bottom G. After that I could do with more grunt especially pedal D downwards.. I don't get on with the Helleberg II so any other suggestions are welcomed. I don't tend to switch mouthpieces much once I've found what I like so would like to fine a good compromise. It's not for playing anything else but low stuff really for an open big noise.
Thanks

I'm not a big fan of the Schilke 67 as I find it a bit too restrictive and too dull sound-wise on big/dark-sounding tubas. You might wanna try a good ole large bowl mpc like a PT-88 or Bach 7 on your Thor. Or a medium-large bowl mpc like a Bach 12. Those mpcs will open up the low register and sound. :!:

The students I've had that played on a Thor found the most success with a Laskey H. Most tried and liked the 30H but there are several choices as to width. Good luck!
