stuck piston stem

Post by LucGeraats »

Dear all,

all my pistons stems from my MW Thor are stuck, does anyone know if they're soldered on the piston? I'm trying to get them loose without any luck..
Any suggestions?

Greetings

I've never seen them soldered, though I did have one or two stuck on my old PT6P. I typically use lock pliers with a cloth wrapped tightly around the stem to get it loose.

I've seen pistons with stripped or worn out threads "repaired" by soldering the stem in place, but this is the exception rather than the rule (that is, they are usually not soldered in place, but they could be...)
