The Wedge/Sellmansberger Mouthpiece
As with a lot of us, I've been on a mouthpiece safari for a while. I guess I like to try a new combinations of horns and mouthpieces to see how it works for me. I have the new bubbie 5 and had the bubbie 1 mini tubas. I found that the Wedge SJ solo was perfect for me and that horn. I went to using that mouthpiece on my full sized horns. It worked well for articulation and fit on my face. However, I found myself wanting the sound of the Sellmansberger imperial and symphony for my larger horns. I asked Dr. Dave to create an SJ solo screw on rim for the Sellmansberger line of mouthpieces. It took a bit of work, but it arrived last week. The combination worked out effect for me. I get the fit and articulation that works for me with the sound that I like. So, my now go to mouthpiece is the Sellmansberger symphony with a Wedge SJ Solo rim. For me the best of both worlds.

Re: The Wedge/Sellmansberger Mouthpiece
The SJ rim is silver plated brass. The Sellmansberger underpart is stainless steel. I guess Dr. Dave could do stainless steel, but he is more familiar with the brass.
