Fairfax, VA's "Tuba Man"

My wife and I were finishing up at a brewery when a lone Sousaphone/Sousaphone player strolled by playing. I rushed the server to run our card so that I could go check out why a Sousaphone player would be out strolling and playing outside of Oktoberfest season
We met Mr. Jay Converse. In two seconds of speaking with him, I was grinning from ear to ear. Not because of the LED light show that was being emitted from the bell. Not because of the rarity of seeing a lone Sousa out for a stroll. He was simply a kind man that was playing for payment. Only he didn't take money; he simply wanted to see people smile.
I didn't realize that the news was filming us, but I get a cameo and a quote. Truly elated that this made the news. No political stories, crisis, murder... Just a great representative of our trade and great story to boot.
