Music Stand Lights
I know this has been discussed several times in the past; but technology marches forward.
Are there any new music stand lights that you really like?

Re: Music Stand Lights
My stand light here at home for the last several years has been the LED Aria Diva from Aria Lights. They have two other LED offerings, all of which are available cheaper elsewhere, some even used.
I use battery powered LED's such as Lampcraft's Super Gig Light (now replaced by the Fermata) when on the road and the ambient light's too dim for my old eyes.
The big advantage of the Arias are their color temperature of around 3000°K which is nearer to incandescent lighting rather than the bright blue's 6000°K color temperature of most other cheap LED stand lights.

I've been really happy with the Might Bright Orchestra light. It has 9 LEDs so plenty of illumination, but the Encore light looks pretty good too with 6 LEDs... and a little cheaper too. I use rechargeable AA batteries which last a long time.
Just found this 'copy' of the orchestra light by Kootek. The goose-neck looks a little shorter but it has 9 LEDs at about half the price. Also, it has a Lithium rechargeable batter instead of AA's.

Home Depot has some nice LEDs that work well in an old Manhasset light. It gives an old light a much brighter and more pleasant outlook.

Wow! That really looks great. Even better than the one I linked to.Schlepporello wrote: Look a little further and you can get this one. https://www.amazon.com/Lightess-Music-S ... ight&psc=1" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank
I bought enough of these to put one on each of our stands at church. They're the best I've found yet.
Thanks Schlep

My band uses something similar to these:

They work really well and are adjustable and use batteries.

Having tried most (but not the European-made) stand lights on the market I can say that the best for the price is the Mighty Bright 9-LED Orchestra Light. Since that light can be battery-powered it is an advantage not to have AC power needed. The color provided by the LEDs should be noted.

Re: Music Stand Lights
I've had the Mighty Brite Orchestra light since they first came out, and I'm hooked on it. The cord to the power adapter is much longer than typical, which is really helpful. On the other hand, the cord is really thin and easily cut. I used it for two years with batteries before getting around to fixing it, which was really no problem at all.
I just ordered one of these. The rechargeable battery and price look great.Just found this 'copy' of the orchestra light by Kootek. The goose-neck looks a little shorter but it has 9 LEDs at about half the price. Also, it has a Lithium rechargeable batter instead of AA's.

One other thought:
Do you have any stage lighting? If the idea is to supplement this lighting it may be that the shadowing by the stand light is an issue. If the only the source of lighting is from the stand light this is not a problem.

I keep a Mighty Bright in my bag, the kind with the two round-shaped LEDs on stalks. I think it may have developed a short in one of the wires; one of the LEDs flickers every so often even with brand-new batteries.
I suppose I shouldn't complain. I won it for free at a raffle nine years ago and it has been knocked around in my gig bag ever since.

Re: Music Stand Lights
Thanks for the link! I have had the mighty brite duet for some time and Santa brought my son one of these lightess lights for Christmas and it is amazing how bright they are and how inexpensive! We have the mighty brites at my regular church gig and they never seem to offer enough light, aside from the "replace the batteries when the second light flickers" syndrome. I definitely will be using the lightess and will be curious to see how they hold up.Schlepporello wrote:Look a little further and you can get this one. https://www.amazon.com/Lightess-Music-S ... ight&psc=1" target="_blank" target="_blankRick F wrote:I've been really happy with the Might Bright Orchestra light. This is why the Ipad is great on a gig. It's backlit. Just remember to charge your paper
