In Kansas City, we again did two performances -- one on Dec 2 (Harvey's birthday) and on Dec. 12. Between the two days we had 711 performers, about 350 each day. Here is a photo from one of the two days:
Scott Watson, professor of tuba at the Univ. of Kansas conducted. Piston/rotary, BBb/CC, Chinese clone/OEM all existed in harmony with occasional outbreaks of decent intonation. We had two capacity audiences who greatly enjoyed the events.
How was your TubaChristmas?
PS- Happy to have any TN readers join us next year in KC.
Best wishes for the Holidays and the New Year,
Frank Byrne
Executive Director, Kansas City Symphony
and TubaChristmas performer

About 140 in St Paul. I think they're going to need a bigger space pretty soon.

35--an all-time high--in Woodstown, South Jersey.
120 [Don't tell the Kimmel Center folks! They limit the numbers to 100 per session] in Philadelphia for the noon concert, and he was expecting 110 for the 5PM concert.

I attended two TubaChristmases this past season, in Tennessee. First was in Pulaski, where there was six tubas and eight euphoniums for one performance to an enthusiastic audience at First United Methodist. Next was Nashville, which counted 158 total, for two packed performances, downtown at the First Baptist.
T is for tuba, T for Tennessee.

524 in NYC at Rockefeller Center. Always a great turnout and we had a special guest conductor in Brian Usifer, Music Director of Kinky Boots (and great nephew of Paul Lavalle, who conducted the very first Tuba Christmas in 1974)!
