I never go anywhere without a stand light. Aging eyes don't function in the dark.

I've abandoned clothespins in favor of file bands. I keep a handful with. Even indoors sometimes you're under a fan or airconditioning duct.

Ziploc bag with several spare bow ties in it (red, white, black).

Cheap-o long-forgotten Korg tuner, long since replaced by a smartphone app.....

Good description!

As I have mentioned before, I always carry an extra black bowtie. If I had been charging rent, I would be rich by now.

All sounds about right.
Furthermore for rotary valves horns I always have a small repair kit (hammer, screw driver, cork, rubber bands! I've broken springs 2x in my career)
Also two very large rubber bands for outside gigs. I prefer this to clothespins.
Anti slip cloth.
My mpc is always with my personal stuff and I also have a reserve mpc with my ax. Just because.

Well of coarse: you're the mpc man!
Sometimes I'm using part of the same mpc in another combination with another horn. (Which is why I always have a reserve mpc for "just in case" I mess up something)

I need to get a small bag to put the stuff in for faster retrieval. I also have my music playing glasses in there in a case. They are computer glasses which allow me to see the music clearly and the director sort of clearly.

Mine has a Korg tuner, Wenis Wick wireless pickup I still can't figure out, old mouthpiece, rag, drawer liner for slippery pants, pencils, monster oil. I throw my iPad in it when I go, so no need for stand lights or clothespins.

I keep a plastic Kellyberg in my car for long drives and as a last resort if I need to lend out a mouthpiece.

In the accessories pouch of my Gard gig bag is a Denis Wick 2, a leather marching strap, a broken lyre and some orphan sheet music.

Among other things already mentioned by others, I always have
  • travel toothbrush
    toothpaste
    plastic toothpicks
    dental floss
Started carrying these when I had braces, but still find them useful even though the braces are gone.

Speaking of mouthpieces that are kept in gigbags (attempt to keep "on-topic"), I used to work for (quite a lot, come to think of it) a banjo/guitar player/contractor who kept, in the trunk of his car, one each of the "standard" sized brass mouthpieces (trumpet, trombone, tuba), just in case someone showed up to one of his gigs without one.

I can attest to the fact that they were occasionally used......

I've seen this most frequently in the Morris dance scene - in general, not specifically musicians. Steel flasks of distilled spirits, and herbal refreshments both. Morris is a tradition from England. The Puritans fled England to come here. QED

Because my gig bag has to contain a tuba stand, it is a lot bigger than ya'll's gig bags. Stand light, glasses, tuba stand and spacer to put under the won't-stay-up central post, black towel to rest bell on. No tools because if it breaks on a gig I'm toast. So where do you put your tuba stand?

Usually have a generic 18t and a Conn 2 with tuning bits for the 2xj beast. Stand light. A crown royal bag filled with tuner, clothes pins, spare part)s and a good supply of Monster faster oil. Oh yeah, my huge music book too.
