The bulk of the musical talk
The bottom bow and ferrules do not look like Martin or Conn. They look like something rotary and European, as does the guard stuff. I see another ferrule earlier in the bugle that looks like something American (King, York, Martin...something). I'd say this horn looks like a real mix of many parts, and it looks like the builder put a LOT of time and energy into making this very unique tuba. Thank you for sharing the photos.
I got Mike Morse of MorseInstrumentRepair, to fix the 5th valve on my horn. https://www.facebook.com/mikemorsebrass I also added it to my second photobucket above. You can also go to Mike Morse Instrument Repair on Facebook for the best picture.
http://www.morseinstrumentrepair.com" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank/ Mike put on a stronger spring and a new product. The new fifth valve uses ball bearings to help with smoother activation. The picture on his facebook page is quite descriptive. The product is by Instrument Innovations. https://www.facebook.com/instrumentinnovations" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank. I am really impressed with the product and the repair! Thanks Mike!
