Hi All!
I'm getting back into playing again after a 30 yr vacation. When I pulled my horn out of storage, I found one issue with the valves.I need a 3mm linkage arm for a Meinl Weston 591 CC.
There is an 11 stamped on the #2 linkage and also on the mounting bar for the paddles. Has the factory uniball linkage. I would prefer to keep the original set up and not install the Dubro substitute. Always wanted a Marzan CC, but love the way this horn plays. Fred Marzan had this tuba shipped in while I was his student so would prefer to keep it as is.
Ideally, would like 2 arms as one is broken and another is bent.
Thanks for any help or information.

Re: Tuba Linkage
I have managed to make a steel replacement arm. Even though its not perfect, it's the correct length and thread. The valve works great and the paddles are all even.
I didn't realize how much of a pain it would be using a handheld die to cut 3mm threads on and 3.2mm steel rod!!

Re: Tuba Linkage
This is final result of my linkage repair, other than the rod arm being slightly darker than the other three, I can find no other issues. the action works fine without noise. It still works better than the player at this point.
One of the other rods is bent, so I will most likely replace the remaining three as well.

I tried to contact them 2 weeks ago, still haven't heard from them. You would think their customer assistance would be better considering the high-end line up they distribute!
Makes me want to keep my old MW humm' along for many more years.

Just curuous about how much those Melton and B&S linkages could cost?

It's almost as bad if you are a bona-fide dealer.tuben wrote:You won't either. Buffet and their people have absolutely ZERO interest in selling individual parts to 'people'.Jim Brewer wrote:Don't know, I still haven't heard back from them.
