Odd horn (CL ad)

Anyone have an idea on what's up with this horn?

I've never seen a sousaphone that doesn't a second "wrap" You'll see the horn does a u-turn, and just sends a brace over, if you'll pardon the lack of correct terminology.

Is this common?

It's an Eb Sousaphone, so it has less tubing than a BBb.

Looks like small bore to me.

I was figuring that must be the case, but don't have any experience with Eb's. When I did a search, many of them still have the traditional "wrap", so my curiosity was peaked.

Thanks

This is an Eb. There are some that are a full rap and some that have this partial rap design. The partial rap design is a little bigger in diameter allowing for larger people to fit into the horn.
