I remember an old cassette recording of the President's Own Marine Band section doing just this at an Army Tuba Euph Conference. Don't know who did the arrangement. I don't remember it sucking.

For anyone else following, February 2, 1989 at the Army Band conference SSgt James M. Dunn of the Marine Band played this with what looks like four trombones from the cassette tape jacket. No mention of an arranger.

Having a bass trombone play the Romance instead of tuba is like having Ernest Borgnine play "Pretty Woman" instead of Julia Roberts. :P
