Tuba mute idea

Hello again!
Today I did another experiment with my regular tuba with a mute that bought that didn't cost me an arm and a leg. I bring this up so as to help anyone who might want to play their tuba, but not disturb the neighbors who don't have as much appreciation for the tuba as we do.
Head to the nearest Wal-Mart or K-Mart and get a football. That's right, an ordinary football that kids would play in the backyard. I got one today and put it inside the bell of my BBb tuba. Sounds great and fits well also. The nice thing is you can pull it out anytime. The only thing I would caution is don't cram the football inside too much the bell. Just put it in until it fits snuggly.
A nice alternative for those who want to play but not shell out the big bucks on the more sophisticated versions.
