Oops...just put this on "for sale"...same message...

Hello all,
Swiss Air killed my B&S Symphonie F on the way TO Lyon (yes, I played on a busted instrument throughout the competition), and I am now searching for a new F...so sad expecially because I dropped over $500 at Osmun Music for Jim Becker (who is AMAZING!) to put my B&S in impeccable condition two weeks prior to departing. I have heard incredible reviews about 2 particular instruments...the new Gronitz rotary F's and the new Miraphone F's. I would truly appreciate any feedback on these or other instruments. Thank you all, and I hope ya'll have much better luck flying with your horns than I have the past 3 years...American Airlines had to replace the bell and leadpipe on my Alexander CC about 2 1/2 years ago.

I am also interested in any information about these tubas. The new Miraphone, I think it is called the Firebird, is that available yet? Can anybody who owns this or the Gronitz tell us about them? Thanks!

Jobey, what do you mean by "destroyed" and were you insured? My main horn would have been considered destroyed by nearly everyone when i first acquired it, now it's pretty sweet...

"Jobey, what do you mean by "destroyed" and were you insured?"

-Yes, I am insured, and my carrier has been excellent in helping me with the claim. Basically, the horn could be repaired and used as a learning tool (I'm considering donating it to my alma-mater), but will never be suitable, atleast for me, in the professional world...jobey

Firebird= AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but it's not out yet and they are still tweaking a few things. Which could mean that it will be even more amazingor they will totally ruin it.
I've played a Gronitz F (piston) and I really like the sound and feel of it. It plays kinda like a Hirshbrunner F, but a little better and I like the sound better.
Both horn would work really well in brass quintet.
