Cerveny tuba CBB 603

Post by arievinke »

I am playing a Cerveny CBB 696 but I want to chance to an Cerveny CBB 603. I wonder if the sound is the same?

The 696 is probably the closest of todays horn to my old 601
Compared to the 603, it is a very different instrument, of course due to its size, but you will recognize the Cerveny signature and both does have the kaiser bore so will share some of the same playing characteristics.

First thing that might strike you is that it feels far less resonant.....but that would also be stating the obvious. I quite liked it, but scaled down to the Opera as I found the sound more interesting.

Ironically closer to the larger ones (only less of it)

58Mark can probably tell some about then differences between his 601CC and PiggyCC.
