pronounced CHAIR-vin-yee. It means the red one. The vin part is pronounced

The only person I ever heard say it in person said HEElicon. So that is why I say it that way. HELLicon might be a better description overall

When I had one, once in a while someone would pronounce it sounding a lot like "french horn." Not often, but more often than you might expect. Eb, not even an "F horn."
