Tuner App for Tuba

I want to download a Tuner App for an LG phone with Android Operating system. I want the App to reliably pick up notes in the Tuba and Euphonium range. I was just wondering what apps all of you use? I don't mind paying for a good app. (I've bought enough stand alone tuners over the years) it would just be nice to have one with me on my phone and not have to pull out a separate device. I wouldn't mind if the app could also generate drones, and do other things like a metronome. My primary concern is the tuner though.

Bandmate works well for tuba as well. I used to use DaTuner, but it would lock up on my phone.

+1
and does well-tempered & just tuning (which is useful for other things than tuba)

I use APTuner which seems to do fine and it does have a strobe view. Bloke does have a point. All of the tuner apps I've tried are strongly affected by microphone placement. You get a different reading in the horizontal position versus the vertical position. (Has to do with the microphone pick up characteristics) Putting on a stand may give you different results too. I recommend you test the app you use next to a trusted stand alone tuner to see what works for your phone and app.

You can also check n-Track (free).
https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... rack.tuner" target="_blank

The name misleads by saying n-Track Guitar Tuner - but it works very well also for tuba with some interesting additional features (no metronome though).

Works anywhere with any instrument

Super easy to use!

Pays for itself the first time you use it.

InsTuner (Free version) for the tuner

Garag Band (Free version) has a metronome

But I have no idea why the Rooskies want to listen to me play my tuba...

In the area I'm in the tunable app is popular, and it works great for basic tuning and much more complex tuning with chord structures, different sound wave options, metronome and a bunch other cool stuff included. Great app, but I'm sure any of the other ones listed will work well.

The built in mic on a phone or laptop just wont read tuba fundamentals.
I use a korg ot-12. The modern version is the ot-120

Another vote for Tonal Energy. Drone producer (in many octaves, with many built in timbre choices) GREAT subdividing metronome function, good tuner, and many, many, many tempering options. It's like $2 right? can't beat it. (though I still keep my Korg Metro-tuner around at all times too just in case)

I just tried to buy that one, and was sent through iTunes hell.
hey...I have a nice little tuner which is smaller than my phone, and - propped up on my music stand - it occasionally falls on the floor. Better that $8 tuner than my $1000 phone.

It is interesting how it is possible to get false impression of someone, by reading their posts online. If I had not met you in person, I would have a picture in my head of an old man living in the past with nothing better to do all day than post on TubeNet. While in actaul fact you are a successful businessman and probably younger than me :)

I sometimes use the built in tuning in ForScore and find that works fine.

I downloaded Bandmate last week and it seems to work well with tuba--and it's free.

+1 for Tunable. It tunes down to pedal C.
