Good Competition Pieces

I've been thinking about this for a while and I couldn't find a forum on here about it so I thought I'd ask. Are there any tuba solo pieces that, in a competition for brass and woodwind (or even brass, winds, strings and piano) that would be impressive enough to win on?
There are a few that I know of that are musically interesting enough and have technically demanding passages such as the John Williams and Schumann Adagio and Allegro, etc... but In the end, stacking up against flutes and violins in a competition with solo music seems rather futile...
