Just found this file on a German forum. I wouldn’t be able to translate the German tech terms to English, but then the photos will be enough for some of you to get a good idea about what is needed.

I made one out of PVC pipe a few years back. Never could get it in tune. Made a lot of noise though.

Re: Alphorn built of parts bought in HomeDepot or the like
I am the admin of the german Musiktreff-Forum linked above. I just noticed in my server log files that there are many error messages coming from here and from the link in the first post in this thread.
Deeplinking like it has been done in the first post isn't possible, please use the following link to download the Alphorn manual:
https://www.musiktreff.info/downloads/1 ... -baumarkt/" target="_blank
and click the "download"-button on this page to get the PDF.
If you should have questions about the translation, just ask. We also have a (german) discussion about this manual in our forum, it is located here: https://www.musiktreff.info/instrumente ... itung.html" target="_blank

I tried the link in my original posting from the preview page. Where it worked well. And just tried the link in the said original posting. Where it worked equally well. Of course there were a short delay during a redirection, but nothing that prevented me from getting the building-directions up on my screen.

Perhaps the builder could post an audio file of playing it on Soundcloud or Dropbox...
