Hello
I bought used Nirschl handmade. The 1st 3rd and 4th valve slide goes very well and i like it that way. IT's really Easy to make adjustment. But in 2 month they had fallen 2 or 3 Time each.

What système do You used ? Pictures please.

Some people tie shoelaces or other strings around the slide and the nearest brace. The MW Baer tuba has a fancy version of the same thing.

Here's a picture from someone's for sale ad:

I have a similar problem with the first slide on my PCK if I don't push it in all of the way before setting it down. The above picture is what I plan to have done if it becomes more of an issue.

You could also get a stop-rod installed, for a more finished appearance. My old Miraphone 188 had something like that on the 1st valve slide, which I think was made out of Bach trumpet parts.

Just make sure that, like on a Bach trumpet, that if a stop rod is installed it is "double nutted" so the nut doesn't work loose, fall off itself, and defeat the purpose.
