French tuba player

Post by Alex C »

I have been a fan of the French Jazz/Dixie tuba player, Fred Dupin, for a couple of years. I heard him on a Facebook post and have always been pleased by his tasteful style in every type of music. Fred is also a technical wizard as well.

Here is a recent post of his. If nothing else, catch his solo at 3 minutes into the video. There are working tuba players in France, one at least.

It's a great solo. Alex. I also admire Fred's steady, balanced 4-to-a-bar playing which makes the relatively bare instrumentation of a "mere" trio work even better.
