Been listening to some Chester Schmitz Boston recordings the last few days... its been quite a while for me. Holy crap!

I was having second thoughts about playing a (3 day/2 night) festival this weekend... as part of a brass trio... where my playing will be hyper-exposed... and there is no drummer... and all of us are underprepared (especially the trumpet player)... and the pay is "break even" after travel expenses...

But then I saw this...

Is a Double Bass a large violin or a pair of fish?
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

I keep thinking I should really have a tenor tuba - with nice rotars and all pretty bright silver plate.

Almost, 1pm so this is a post lunch thought....but I shaved my beard...now my low range sucks much less....and my whiskers don't stab my face and make me bleed sometimes when I play...but it takes me time shaving in the morning.....1st world tuba problems.
