Salvation Army "Triumph" BBb tuba

Greetings,

A fellow band director friend of mine contacted me and said that a family donated some instruments from their basement, one of which is a salvation army "Triumph" tuba. I sent him a link to the horn-u-copia website for some info, but I was wondering if anyone here has actually played one.

He said it's dirty and smells bad, but otherwise seems to be in good shape. Here's the link I sent him:

Sounds like quite a few brass players I know...

Brass Bands were important in the work of the Salvation Army:

The SA used all types of musical instruments including brass instruments:
