Holton - York Connection

Post by Heliconer »

I think I've forgotten just how I found it..

But I had come across a thread a few days ago, that had mentioned York making Holton Tubas sometime in the early 1900's; can anyone elaborate on this?

I know that Holton did work with York in the 1890's.

My Holton BBb 3 valve "Mammoth" tuba was made in 1916 in Chicago prior to the
Company being moved. Lee Stofer has stated that he feels there was a very solid connection between these two companies as the comparable York 98 horn and the Holton Mammoth share many of the same parts. Perhaps he will enter into this discussion!
