I think you are getting no answer because nobody has ever seen let alone been able to measure up a Nirschl 6/4 BBb tuba to know what sort of leadpipe it might have had. The CC version is handmade to order, and I suspect the BBb was likewise. Thus, you need to contact Walter Nirschl himself.gator16104 wrote:Hello,
Awhile back I purchased a 6/4 BBb Walter Nirshel Tuba and I was trying to find out some information about it. The gentlemen that I purchased it from changed the leadpipe and did some other adjustments to the instrument. I was trying to figure out the original specs of the horn and I would also like to find out some history about the instrument so that I could try to put it back to the oringinal. I was also wondering if anymore like it had been built. Does anyone have any contacts that I could find out about this instrument or does anyone know about this tuba?
Thanks,

The last email address I had for him is Info@walternirschl.de, but that was four years ago. I had consulted him about the origins of my York Master (made by the B&M factory that he bought in 1992), and he knew nothing of the history but could supply parts and overhaul if needed.
