i used a bach mouthpiece in high school
i now play the helleberg and i must say that i feel it is an upgrade in tone and especially flexibility.

The extra weight makes it easier to play high, loud, and center pitches, but it wipes out high overtones and makes response slow, from my experience.

I dunno man, it sounds like a big plot just to slap an extra 40 bucks on a bach 7 mpc. Find one that works for you, that is what really matters.

You can test drive mouthpieces from the WWBW for a reasonable restocking fee.

Good point -- there's a lot more going on than just the extra mass.

I still think it's funny that they charge more for a mouthpiece that requires less machining...
