Looking around for colleges so I'll be in tons of areas this summer, also looking for tubas? Anyone know where to go?

Buffet Crampon (the parent company for B&S and Meinl Weston) has the largest showroom of tubas in the US in Jacksonville

Besides private collections, Buffet is the best choice. Their brass specialist is a very talented tuba player, John Hadden.

Isn't B&S part of Buffet Crampon now? If so, anyone know if they have a B&S MRP rotary C on display (I assume it's very unlikely)?

If you get down the FT. Myers way send me a message. You're welcome to come play anything in my collection.

Buffet normally has a good selection of stuff to try, but does take them to shows regularly, so make sure to call first.
Big Mouth Brass (bmb) is in the villages and normally has all of their horns available to try.
And
Kanstul horns can be found in Orlando. Bob Carpenter is incredibly nice and extremely helpful. If you can get his contact info im sure he has a few sitting around your could try.
If you don't want to do a ton of travelling, USF typically does an Octubafest event and has vendors come. However, since Jay has left the school I am not sure what their plans are this year. I am working to get something together at Stetson, but not sure if that will happen this year. Also, the FMEA convention in Tampa always has a few things to try. Last year BMB had all their horns, Miraphone had 3 different horns, Buffet had 2 tubas, tuba exchange takes a huge display, and lastly M&M take a decent number of horns too.

Was just in Tallahassee for FSU and passed near the Villages on the way home, could have stopped at Jacksonville too. Shame I didn't think about that. Oh well, 2 more weeks of summer.
