I searched the tubenet archives and didn't find anything.

Our tuba quartet (triangletubas.com) is looking for a piece we can play at a church service later this summer.

We would appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks,

Jack

I have never heard of that combination; on the other hand, you might be ready to borrow some music from other families of instruments, strings, etc. Be brave.

If jazz is acceptable, a good jazz pianist could add his own part by ear.

I never have heard of a piano quintet composed for piano and tuba quartet.

What immediately comes to my mind, structurewise, is that Schubert encountered a similar problem when writing 'The Trout’. Because the double bass added so much weight to the bottom end, Schubert wrote the piano part in a quite high range. That range wasn’t overloaded, because there was only one violin.

One area to look at might be baroque chorale preludes. The tuba quartet could cover the chorale passages and the cantus firmus type of stuff, while the piano could do the runs and the flourishes.
