Abomination

Post by Ken Crawford »

Stumbled across this on ebay. Interestingly it is direct marketed from China, no importer. They come in BBb and F as far as I've seen, this is the BBb. Any of those who have traveled to the factories over there handled one of these before? It just looks crazy. Somebody with an extra $2500 buy one and report back.

Do they come with white cotton handling gloves? If so, sign me up.

Kind of reminds me of an old room radiator with a bell. :)

Here is the F version:

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

Same. Although I will wait until I hear a significant amount of information about it before seriously considering one. My expectations are low, but who knows?

The thread in the "Off-site" forum turned up someone who'd played one, and didn't recommend it.

I think you would be better off purchasing the Wessex travel tubas in Eb/F, BBb or CC. They have a history, a reliable seller and better resale options should you not like it. And did you notice that your playing hand has no where to rest, no thump ring either. I think it not well thought out.

This cool looking abomination must be awful to drain... Look at it. The path of rotation must take a dozen turns.
