Ha!!! At my age, who wants a leveled playing field, and who gives a hoot about guilt? I'll take every advantage I can get. I've "paid my dues" and deserve it. Finally after 50 years of playing on crappy old beaters, I now have a stash of pretty nice horns that play easity and sound great. I also now have the luxury time to practice a bit. Do I feel guilty that some of my younger colleague still have those demanding careers? Hell no. So Bloke, I confess I bit the hook from your little troll and shared a rant with you. I suppose I do have a luxury of time, or else why would I waste it pontificating with the sophmoric pseudowisdom of an old geezer.

To bring Bloke's past into modern terms, he was a bit of a hustler. I give him points for creativity. I'm sure the current smoke free folks would find his behavior deplorable, but that is now and this was then. I'm glad all his tubas are in wonderful shape, so are mine. I do play for paying gigs, but mine are not as lucrative as his. Most of the time I play for old people to make them happy. Then again, I'm retired with a pension, so I can afford to be more generous.

Ship it to a school across the country with UPS for a year and then have them ship it back via air mail

Unfortunately my generously portioned sized doesn't allow me the luxury of wearing a tuxedo without perspiring and thus requiring a visit to the local dry-cleaners. Don't gloat, Bloke. It... you know what, nevermind, I'm not gonna win this.
