Bore is mentioned a lot by the more technically savvy Tubenetters, however I imagine there are more people than me that don't know how to guage its impact and or determine what we're looking at.

If there's a primer somewhere on how to learn about determining bore size and also understanding how it changes the performance of the horn or experience for the player, can someone point me to it? A search on tubenet found lots of mentions, but I didn't come across a specific bore discussion.

Lacking that resource - anyone want to weigh in?

This slapped me in the face like a ton of bricks. I had always assumed there was a right or a wrong depending on the size of the instrument, but this makes perfect sense. Once again, I learn from Bloke.

Besides playing a ton of horns and keeping track of bore size - how does one infer from bore, make and model what differences to expect, or what might be their preferred balance?
