I own one . it is a fantastic tuba.

Do you consider it top-heavy? That's the only real criticism I've ever read of the 289.

The 289 is not light. 41 inches tall, 18.5 inch bell . Top heavy ? Haven't noticed that in the 5 years that I've owned mine .It drains fantastically.Plays wonderfully .
