Would the parts in the Tuba Christmas book sound good as a trio? Just wondering if it could be played with just 3 voices instead of 4. Thinking of caroling some during the holidays this year and wanted to try it with just 3 parts. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies. I could probably get 4 parts covered, but around the holidays it can be harder to find. I was just wondering if it would work. Thanks guys.

Use Winston Morris' Tuba Carols. There are just three parts for each tune and the arrangements are fine.

You'd be better off re-arranging the book to make sure the melody, counter-melody, and harmony are there. I've tried reading through the book with 3 players, but it is always missing something.

You are reading off the scores, right? I would think with a first euph and and a bass tuba and a third guy floating between the middle two parts you could do it. Make sure someone plays the third of the chord on the final chord and you are good to go.... They are Christmas carols being played on tubas; it ain't Mozart....
