Instrumentation
I have never had the privilege of playing the Saint Saens Symphony No 3 (Organ). I have been told that the score calls from Organ, two pianos, harp and full orchestra (100 or more players). I watched a couple of performances without the 2 pianos - just one., and orchestra parts, being played. Has anyone played in the full instrumentation? This just a matter of curiosity.

Re: Instrumentation
Very compelling piece if the organ is a great one. It needs to shake the floorboards.
I've done it several times. My best performance was when I did it on a Yamaha Eb. It was in the perfect range and it locked incredibly well with the bass trombone. I also liked the way the bell pointed into the trombones. It did give them a sense of my presence and they were able to play into the tuba sound and tune to it, rather than ignore it, as is so often the case.
