John Adams, "The Chairman Dances" - any info?

Post by Tom Holtz »

Hey, nerds...

I know I haven't been around much, but I could use a little inside info. The local community orchestra has the John Adams piece "The Chairman Dances" on tap for next month. I've never heard of it, I know zero about it. I only started rolling with the wire choir a few weeks ago. Is there anything in the Adams that I need to worry about?

WELL PLAYED.

It just so happens that the Eb was on the docket for that show anyway. Thank you, bloke. One less thing to stress me out.

Lots of fun. I asked Adams if he was thinking of any tuba player when he wrote it and his response was, "No, that's just what I heard."
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

The beer holder will certainly come in handy with 190 measures of tacit. Tell me again why this isn't standard equipment on every tuba?
