Hello everyone. I am currently majoring in both trombone performance and tuba performance at Lawrence University with Marty Erickson and Tim Albright. I've been looking at grad schools for just one instrument, but I would say I am equally interested in and skilled at both instruments, so both teachers have mentioned that it might be worthwhile looking for a program or assistantship that would allow me to do both.
Does anyone have a lead on some programs or schools to look into?
Many Thanks

Re: Tuba and Trombone?
The world is your oyster.
Many many years ago I loved several instruments but had to choose one. I chose tuba based on how I could compete and what the opportunities were.
All "openings" are for a particular instrument. Be the best at that one.
Competition is fierce; get a job and then do what you want within any musical genre.
Good luck to you. (no help on programs for both t-bone & tuba).

Go win a job...then you won't have to worry about a grad program!

Re: Tuba and Trombone?
My own trombone playing is kind of lame, but bone players are about 3:1 over tuba players in opportunities vs. literature vs. not being the butt of every friggin' joke.
