About six months ago,I bought a lovely hirsbrunner hbs 288 F tuba which is 30 years old.Every things are perfact except the mouthpiece.I have tried JK exclusive 5c and denis wick heritage 3SL ,but the sounds are too bright.Does anyone have better mouthpiece suggestions can help me? Thanks.

You *might* be trying to make this horn sound like something it isn't designed to sound like. I would spend your mouthpiece budget on a few lessons with someone accomplished.

I think a JK 4B would be much better than the 5C, I'm not surprised to hear that you found it too bright.

Mouthpiece selection is a personal choice, but I think you would find the JK 4B a good match with that tuba.

John,

Please post or send a photo of your new aquisition. Off hand, the PT / now RT-64 or 65 should work very well on the Instrument. Bob
