MW 2182w - Any recordings out there of this horn?

I have a 2182w on the way (used to use a 45slp but I was looking for a smaller horn). Are there any recordings out there of folks playing this horn? I'd like to hear what can be done with it. Doesn't Tim Buzbee use one? Any others?

You can find other videos of the top three players using this horn on YouTube, as well. Other than the last one, I do not know if they are using the larger valves horn or not.

I believe those recordings were done on the small-valve 2182, except JC Sherman's demo. The only recordings I know of on the 2182W would be on Aaron Tindall's newest album "Transformations". He uses the 2182W on the "Harmonien" track and also in "Are You Experienced?". Really great album and totally worth listening to!

The MW 2182-W is a great instrument. Warren Deck and myself did a few things to make this an improvement from the stock 2182. It is a very free blowing, compact piston F tuba that has great intonation, response, and the sound/color of an Alex F.

I believe that I’m the only one to have recorded on this model so far. The other mentioned recordings were done using the standard 2182 that has the small valve set.

Great playing, Aaron. Tim Buzbee's playing got me interested in this horn for a while; now you've brought that interest back.

Would someone please provide specs, incl. height, weight, bore, bell diameter, anything else? The Melton/Meinl site says it's a 6/4, 36" tall thing, which I'm guessing is a mistake.

Another question: What would you say is the CC equivalent to this horn (if there is one), particularly from MW? And if not from MW, what?

Tim Buzbee is now using the 2182W exclusively as his F tuba. He sounds absolutely unreal on it!

This instrument is 36.2 inches tall, has a .748-.787.-.846(5th valve) bore, and has a 14.9 inch bell.

At the time this instrument was “re-developed” I was using a heavily modified 6450/2
that Warren and myself had tinkered with. The 2182W blows very freely, and features an extremely even backpressure across all registers just as that instrument did.

Thanks, Aaron. Would you happen to have the weight as well? It looks like a small horn, not too much bigger than the 182. You wouldn't call it a 6/4 horn, would you?
