Are you referring to the slide stoppers? They can be made with a lyre holder and a "nub" (I can't think of the real word at the moment). The nub is soldered onto the slide crook ferrule and the lyre holder is soldered onto the outer slide tubing. Put a string or leather strap or whatever through the lyre holder (and screw it down to hold it in place) and attach it to the nub. Done!
I did it to my BBb horn on the second valve to pull for low B natural without having to worry about accidentally pulling the slide all the way out.
