CC tuba mouthpiece recommendations?
I'm looking into possibly getting a new mouthpiece for a new horn I'm getting. Any recommendations that won't run me a crazy price? I ordered a Laskey 30G on October 15th but it's been on backorder since and I'm kinda giving up on it.

Re: CC tuba mouthpiece recommendations?
Well i'm in a wind band right now and i'm about to take orchestral auditions. I have a Hirsbrunner HB-1 coming in but I play on a school BBb horn as of now. I play on a PT-64 and the mouthpiece is for F tuba and it just doesn't feel like it fits a contrabass tuba...

Re: CC tuba mouthpiece recommendations?
It's getting hard to find music stores with a selection of mouthpieces to try, but if you can try a variety of different ones on your horn to see what works best for you that would be helpful. Do you have other tubas in your HS Band? Can you try their mouthpieces out? There are a lot of really expensive options out there that are great options for some players, I personally would try some of the less expensive more common options first. There are many players out there that do quite well on a Bach 18, or a Conn 120S, etc. Searching E-bay and forums like this one for used mouthpieces is also an option, and you can get some really nice pieces for 1/2 the price of new.

I'll bet if you ask around, one of the major retailers may be willing to send you one to use on trial. I know that may be a long shot, but it may be an option for you.
