A fine example of a Haiku right there...

I think I’d have to go to Cuba
To see a trumpet even rival a tuba

A horn with mouthpiece thus impress’d
With air of player’s swelling breast

A horn who’s bass line has been lain
Below the treble’s sweet refrain

Tubas are played by fools like me
But almost all will sure agree!

There once was a man from Nantucket
Who made a tuba from a bucket
He took it to band
They gave him the hand

Tuba duba doo
I see you

This season a Saviour was born
To the toots of a big old bass horn
Played by a shepherd
To fend off a leopard
But this tale is really not sworn!

Indeed, it is large; but I have never heard it called a tuba.

OK, this limerick has been stuck on my desk for years.
Some of my colleagues will no doubt realize who this particular tubist was... but if you tell his widow about this she may never speak to me again...
For the sake of propriety, I am leaving off the last few words. those of you who have the correct mindset for completing it will have no trouble.

There once was a tubist named Ed,
Who practiced a whole lot in bed.
Since he played on his "C",
It was easy to see,
Why poor Ed................
